Barry Eckhaus Multimedia Technician

Barry brings his years of experience as a television producer, graphic artist and video editor to the Steadman Philippon Research Institute.  

He grew up in Chicago before coming to Colorado to receive his degree in Technical Journalism and Video Communication.  Shortly after graduation he moved to the Big Island of Hawaii and worked as a producer for Big Island Television.  While shooting video throughout the Big Island, he started to expand his business interests into the graphic arts and quickly took on a position of Artistic Director for the magazine NALU Underground.  

In 2006 Barry traded in his surf-board for a snow-board and returned to the mountain communities of Colorado and can be found filming surgeries and photographing the events at the hospital and within the community.  

Outside of the Institute, Barry enjoys snowboarding, hiking, fishing and enjoying what the Valley has to offer.  He also loves to volunteer for organizations within the community such as Special Olympics and has held the position of Treasurer for the Summit County Rotaract since 2008.
