"I have to give Mike Shannon a tremendous amount of credit for his leadership and support in making this event possible," said Huard. "We are bringing together the best of the best in the field of research in regenerative and translational medicine. Their collaboration -- which is based on patient-focused ideals and principles -- addresses the endless possibilities that stem cell research and regenerative medicine have for all of us."

The roster of presenters includes keynote speaker Dr. Freddie Fu from the University of Pittsburgh. Fu, recognized as a preeminent leader in orthopaedic surgery and sports medicine, will address the group on Friday evening, Aug. 21, to kick off the weekend’s events.
