Karen Briggs CV

Karen has been with the Institute since 1993 and has served as Director of Clinical Research since 1994. Karen grew up in Basalt, Colorado, and then received her degree from Colorado State University in Microbiology and Chemistry. She then went to work at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center/University of Colorado Medical School in Denver.

Karen worked at the medical school for 8 years. While with the Department of Pediatrics, Karen held the positions of Animal Resource Manager, Assay Development Chemist, Research Associate, and Molecular Biology Laboratory Manager.

In 1992 Karen received her Masters in Business Administration from the University of Colorado at Denver. Karen has recently received her Masters in Public Health from the University of Northern Colorado. Karen began development of the Clinical Research Database in 1993. She has co-authored over 40 publications and has presented research at the AOSSM, AAOS, ESSKA, and ISAKOS. Karen lives in Minturn where her family includes husband, Daryn and her Jack Russell Terriers, Taylor Maid and Bogie.
