Marilee Horan CV
Marilee Horan joined the Steadman Philippon Research Institute in spring of 1998 as Dr. Hawkins clinical research associate. Marilee, a native of Denver, received her degree from the Colorado State University in Microbiology and Chemistry.
She began work in the basic sciences at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center and has worked in many different capacities. She spent 3 years in the Pathology Department investigating how white blood cells can better fight off Mycobacterium infections. From there Marilee moved to the department of Cell & Structural Biology where she spent many years genetically mapping brain proteins DNA coding sequences, that are developmentally regulated at birth. She then spent 7 years managing a growing molecular biology laboratory in the Department of Pediatrics studying lung disease.
Marilee has been involved in over 50 research publications and abstracts. Marilee moved to Vail Valley to escape the city growth in Denver and to enjoy many mountain recreational activities.
