Marilee Horan

Coordinator of Upper Extremity Research

Marilee Horan joined the Steadman Philippon Research Institute in 1998 and is currently the Upper Extremity Research Coordinator in COOR.  Marilee, a native of Denver, received her degree from the Colorado State University in Microbiology and Chemistry.  In 2009 she received her Masters of Public Health from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

Marilee began work in the basic sciences at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center and has worked in many different capacities.  She spent ten years working at the bench identifying important proteins and molecular markers associated with off fighting infections, genetic markers involved in brain development and then managing a growing molecular biology laboratory in the primary pulmonary hypertension.

Looking for a change, Marilee moved to Vail where she started working with the Steadman Clinic shoulder surgeons helping them put together presentations, collecting data to publish their clinical outcomes in the orthopaedic journals.  She works with the past and current Fellows and European visiting physicians to complete many clinical projects yearly.  Marilee has been involved in over 30 scientific publications and has presented research at the Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA), the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), and the European Society of Sports Traumatology, Knee Surgery and Arthroscopy (ESSKA).

Marilee moved to Vail Valley to escape the city growth in Denver and to enjoy many mountain recreational activities.  She enjoys spending her free time hiking, skiing and boating with family and friends, to include her little dog Chloe.
