Michael Mullen,

BS

Research Associate

Michael Mullen joined the Steadman Philippon Research Institute as a research technician in April 2018. Prior to joining SPRI he earned a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Arkansas in Fall 2017. There, he worked in the Cardiovascular Biomechanics lab in the development of a left ventricular assist device for heart failure patients.

Following graduation Michael moved to Vail in January 2018 with hopes of enjoying the ski season and obtaining a job at SPRI. After working in a ski shop, he was excited to get a “real job” in the Center for Regenerative Sports Medicine. Since joining CRSM he has grown more and more thankful for the opportunities he has been given. His current research includes understanding the role of exosomes as a potential therapeutic for muscle and bone regeneration as well as the effects of age and culture expansion on stem cells. He hopes that his research will one day lead to clinical therapeutics for injured and elderly individuals.

When Michael isn’t working you can find him skiing, hiking, camping, fishing, golfing, and exploring everything else the Valley has to offer.
