Rachel Conley
Research Assistant
Rachel Conley is a research assistant in the Biomotion Lab at Steadman Philippon Research Institute. Rachel grew up in Vail, graduated from Vail Mountain School, and earned her bachelor’s degree in behavioral neuroscience with a minor in chemistry from the University of San Diego. She has applied to medical school and plans to matriculate in summer 2027.
Rachel’s focus at SPRI combines clinical research with her passion for education and community engagement. She works directly with patients enrolled in orthopedic clinical trials and uses technologies such as motion capture, force plates, ultrasound imaging, dynamic stereo X-ray, and electromyography to study movement, recovery and muscle health. She also helps lead community lab programming, where she introduces local students to biomechanics, research, and careers in STEM through hands-on activities. One of her favorite parts of this role is making complex concepts approachable and helping students see themselves as capable of pursuing careers in STEM and healthcare.
Outside of work, Rachel enjoys skiing, spending time with family and friends and training for marathons.
