Knee Surgeon, Dr. J. Richard Steadman, Receives Excellence in Sports Medicine Award from the Orthopaedic Foundation for Active Lifestyles
Dr. J. Richard Steadman, Managing Partner and Founder of The Steadman Clinic, and Founder of the Steadman Philippon Research Institute in Vail, Colorado, was recently honored by The Orthopaedic Foundation for Active Lifestyles (OFALS) during its 8th annual gala that took place November 13, 2012 in New York City.
As a passionate orthopaedic researcher, sports medicine specialist, and renowned knee surgeon specializing in knee injuries and disorders, Dr. Steadman accepted the "Excellence in Sports Medicine" award during the gala. The event also honored tennis legend, Billie Jean King, who received the "Spirit of Active Lifestyle" award.
Proceeds from the evening benefited the Orthopaedic Foundation for Active Lifestyles, a not-for-profit foundation whose principal mission is to promote, support, develop and encourage research and education concerning orthopaedic injuries and musculoskeletal diseases. The Steadman Philippon Research Institute offers a parallel philosophy with continuous research studies in process that help support cutting edge research on new and minimally invasive ways to treat pain and keep individuals active.
