RESEARCH INFORMATION FOR SPRI BIOMOTION RESEARCH STUDY OPTIMIZATION OF RETURN-TO-DUTY AFTER KNEE INJURY

This clinical trial is being conducted at The Steadman Clinic, the Steadman Philippon Research Institute, and Vail Health, and is supported by The United States Department of Defense: Office of Naval Research.  The purpose of this study is to review movement differences between healthy volunteers and people who have had a knee injury and undergone ACL-Reconstruction (ACL-R) surgery. 

Eligibility Criteria:
  • Eli Male or female, age 18-50 years
  • Height between 152-195cm (5’0”-6’4”) and weight between 45-102kg (100-225 lb)
  • No pain or injury in any joint, no musculoskeletal pain (bone, joint, or muscle) with OR without activity.
  • Prior to ACL injury, participated in at least 2.5hrs of moderate-intensity exercise per week
  • Underwent isolated ACL reconstruction with The Steadman Clinic Drs. Provencher, LaPrade, Hackett, Millett, or Vidal in the last 6-12 months with no postoperative complications (Your clinical care team has identified that you meet the surgical inclusion criteria for this research.)
  • Completed return-to-sport test at Howard Head Sports Medicine and were cleared to return to activity within the last month
  • No prior surgery or significant injury on any joint in either leg or the spine
  • No pregnant women
  • No diagnosis of osteoarthritis, rheumatoid conditions, cancers, or other conditions which may affect musculoskeletal health
  • No pacemaker, hearing aid, aneurysm clip or artificial heart valve, or other forms of loose metal implants
