Jorge Chahla

Orthopedic Surgeon

Dr. Chahla is an orthopedic surgeon who joined the Steadman Philippon Research Institute as a Regenerative Sports Medicine Fellow.

Dr. Chahla completed his Orthopedics residency program at the Buenos Aires British Hospital. He performed numerous research fellowships at the best-ranked orthopedics program in USA, including Hospital for Special Surgery, NY and The Steadman Clinic, Vail, CO. Currently, he is finishing his PhD program at the Catholic University of Argentina (UCA).

Dr. Chahla has a strong focus on cartilage research and joint preservation procedures. He is also a prodigious anatomist and had performed numerous dissections that are well known around the world.

He is at the moment participating in multicenter studies, with special focus in cartilage repair. He has an established network with well-known scientists in the state of Colorado including Dr. Pascual-Garrido (University of Colorado) and Laurie Goodrich (Colorado State University). Currently, he is working with Dr. Huard and his team in translational regenerative medicine where multiple ongoing projects are being developed, including platelet-rich plasma optimization, bone marrow aspirate characterization and delivering of stem cells.

He has presented multiple studies, both nationally and internationally, at various orthopedic meetings and published his research in prestigious journals.

Jorge is also a remarkable athlete. Throughout his high school and college years, Jorge played rugby and was even selected for the Juvenile Argentinian Team. He also enjoys playing the guitar and drums in his spare time.

Dr. Chahla moved to Vail to learn from world-renowned doctors. He is also looking forward to enjoy the many outdoor recreational activities and beauty Vail has to offer.
