Anna-Laura Nelson
PhD Graduate Student
Anna-Laura Nelson, MS joined SPRI in early July 2018. Prior to joining SPRI, she had completed her Masters in Bioengineering at the University of Colorado Denver Anschutz Medical Campus, where her primary research focus was tissue engineering. Following graduation, Anna-Laura joined a Research and Development team for a tissue bank in Centennial, CO where her projects varied from basic science to product development.
Since joining SPRI, she has pioneered a joint graduate program with Colorado State University and SPRI. This collaborative program focuses on highly translational projects in orthopaedics and healthy aging where one advisor is based out of SPRI and one advisor is based at CSU. She is entering her third year of the program with the School of Biomedical Engineering. Anna-Laura spends her free time refurbishing her house, cooking and hiking with her two dogs, Jada and Roo.
