Lab Coordinator and Research Associate
Kelsey joined Steadman Philippon Research Institute in July 2019. Her research focus is bone formation and fracture healing signaling pathways. She has a certificate in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee. She has experience working in veterinary medicine, entomology and basic clinical science research laboratories.
Kelsey is the laboratory coordinator in the Linda & Mitch Hart Center for Regenerative and Personalized Medicine (CRPM). She handles all laboratory management practices and safety policies for CRPM and other departments within SPRI. As of 2020, she has taken on clinical trials coordinating, working with the IRB and clinical trials teams, assisting in the coordination of all CRPM-involved trials.
In addition to lab operation management, Kelsey works as a research associate, conducting experiments and writing manuscripts concerning various studies that range from basic cell culture and bioactivity analyses to acellular tendon scaffolds, drug delivery systems, gene therapy and in vivo animal studies.
