Kohei Yamaura

Kohei Yamaura, MD, PhD has over 10 years of experience as an orthopaedic surgeon after graduating from Kobe University School of Medicine in Japan. He received his PhD in 2021 for his research on oxidative stress in tendons, healing of enthesis after rotator cuff repair and muscle elasticity changes and glenohumeral internal rotation deficits (GIRD) caused by throwing motion. He also engaged in sports medicine in Japan, working as a team doctor for a professional volleyball team. Dr. Yamaura joined SPRI in September of 2021 as an international researche scholar and works on cartilage regeneration research using a novel biomaterial.
