Research Engineer

Kristen Seballos is a Research Engineer in the Biomedical Engineering Department at the Steadman Philippon Research Institute (SPRI). She studied at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA, earning both her B.S. in Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering and her M.S. in Biomedical Engineering. As a competitive collegiate runner, her time as an athlete inspired her to research human movement.

Kristen’s work at SPRI involves interacting directly with patients enrolled in clinical trials and working with equipment in and out of the Biomotion Lab to run research studies. She has experience with motion capture camera systems, force plates, the Dynamic Stereo X-Ray (DSX) system, and wearable sensors such as electromyography (EMG) sensors, inertial measurement units (IMUs), and pressure sensor insoles.

In her free time, Kristen likes to spend time outside, whether that be running, biking, swimming, hiking, or skiing. On rainy days, she also loves to curl up with a good book, paint, and crochet.
