Lynda Sampson

VP of External Affairs

Lynda grew up in Vail and graduated from Colorado State University at Fort Collins with a degree in speech communications. In February 1991, Lynda relocated to her hometown of Vail, Colorado to join Vail Resorts and the tv8 team during the station’s first year of operation. By the fall of 1993, Lynda served as the executive producer and host of “Good Morning Vail,” a position she held for over 16 years. Since retiring from tv8, Lynda has continued to work for Vail Resorts on a part-time basis, serving as the rodeo secretary for the Beaver Creek Rodeo Series. This past spring, Lynda celebrated 25 years of service with Vail Resorts, earning her a lifetime ski pass to the resort.

In addition to running her own business, Scribbles Fine Stationary, Lynda worked as the Regional Development Officer for Colorado Mountain College’s (CMC) Edwards campus and developed “Women in Philanthropy,” a member-based program with the goal of increasing awareness and support for CMC. Giving back to the community has always been important to Lynda. Her community service and volunteer work includes 18 years on the Board of the Breast Cancer Awareness Group, two years as the President of the Red Sandstone PTA, two years as the chair of Vail Health’s annual Hospital Dinner Dance and serving on the 2015 Youth Committee for the World Alpine Ski Championships.

Lynda joined The Steadman Clinic and Steadman Philippon Research Institute (SPRI) in the Fall of 2011 and assumed her full-time duties as Vice President of External Affairs in 2012. In this role, Lynda oversees special events, marketing, public relations, media production, community sponsorships and digital strategies. In the course of eight years, Lynda has been a vital component in several key initiatives including a complete revamp of both the TSC and SPRI websites, development of a digital marketing strategy and directing all community outreach and educational events.

Lynda lives in Vail with her husband Pete and their golden retriever, Brody. Their two boys are now in college, one attending the Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado, Boulder (CU) and the other studying business at Southern Methodist University (SMU) in Dallas
