Bryant Elrick, MD, MS
Residency: CU Boulder

Bryant was raised in Flagler, CO, a small farming and ranching town where he grew up working on his grandparents' wheat farm and competing in every sport available. He graduated from Flagler High School as a four-sport athlete and was named a Boettcher Scholar. He went on to play varsity basketball at Colorado School of Mines, where he majored in biochemical engineering and graduated Summa Cum Laude, earning the CSM President's Senior Scholar Athlete Award. It was there that Bryant's path toward orthopedics took shape. Severe bilateral nerve compression left him with significant hand dysfunction, requiring multiple surgeries before he could return to the court. Regaining what he nearly lost, he resolved to give back by helping injured athletes return to what they love most. After college, Bryant pursued a Master's in Clinical Anatomy at Creighton University before returning home for medical school at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. During that time, he completed a research internship at SPRI under the mentorship of Dr. Peter Millett, a year he regards as among the most formative and fulfilling of his life. He has dreamt of returning as a fellow ever since. Bryant completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Colorado, serving as Chief of Education. His research in shoulder surgery has yielded over 40 peer-reviewed articles and numerous book chapters, earning the 2020 Cofield Award and a Neer Award finalist distinction. He also co-developed Fractures, an application for managing acute orthopedic injuries, and traveled to Honduras to perform some of the country's first shoulder arthroplasty procedures. He is deeply honored to return to Vail to train alongside the world-class surgeons and scientists who first inspired him. Bryant will be joined by his wife Emily and their golden retriever. Outside of medicine, Bryant enjoys snowboarding, golf, pizza making, fitness, and cheering on Colorado's pro sports teams.
